About UA Local 152

Serving North Central WV with Expertise in Plumbing, Pipefitting, Power Generation, and Natural Gas Development Since 1934

UA Local 152 was established on April 14, 1934, in Morgantown, WV, and serves 18 counties in north-central West Virginia, including Barbour, Braxton, Doddridge, Gilmer, Grant, Hampshire, Hardy, Harrison, Lewis, Marion, Mineral, Monongalia, Pendleton, Preston, Randolph, Taylor, Tucker, and Upshur. We are a union of both plumbers and pipefitters with a strong background in coal-fired power generation. Currently, five coal-fired power plants operate within our jurisdiction. Local 152 has also successfully completed commercial construction projects, such as colleges, public schools, hospitals and office buildings.

In recent years, we’ve grown with the development of the Marcellus Shale gas field. Local 152 has built natural gas processing plants and compressors for various midstream developers. We remain committed to tackling future challenges in the plumbing and pipefitting industries.

The UA Mission

Founded in 1889, the United Association is one of the most respected and influential building trades unions in the U.S. and Canada today. It serves as a collective voice for workers through negotiation and collective bargaining with employing contractor groups, such as the Mechanical Contractors Association of America, and the National Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors. The UA is also a key member of the Building and Construction Trades Department, the AFL-CIO, and the Canadian Federation of Labour.
